Information Helpline participates in the Dollar Energy program. This program is available to anyone living in West Virginia. Each year assistance is available for gas on November 1st and electric on December 1st.
EMERGENCY FOOD & SHELTER
Information Helpline has been awarded Emergency Food & Shelter (EFSP) funds from the US Department of Homeland Security for the last several decades for Ohio county residents, but has in the past served other counties with EFSP funds when awarded. With these funds, Information Helpline can pay larger utility bills and a one-time per year rent/mortgage payment. The EFSP program runs in accordance with all EFSP guidelines, restrictions, and timelines.
GroundGame Health is Anthem's specially trained network of community-based service providers across West Virginia Region 1 which provide services to determine any social determinants Anthem's patients may need to increase health and longevity. Information Helpline connects people in need with agencies and services that can help. IHL is the only Information and Referral Center in the state of West Virginia.
LUNA & ROXY
Luna & Roxy are Australian Shepard sisters that are registered Service Dogs specializing in therapy & emotional support. Their primary purpose is to educate the community on the importance of mental health awareness. Their secondary purpose is to provide emotional and therapeutic support to those in need, especially during and after times of crisis.
Information Helpline partners with the WV Bureau of Senior Services (WVBOSS) to provide the community with a part-time State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) Counselor who assists Medicare beneficiaries, new and old, and is an expert on Medicare Part D.
